I talked about Wurlitzer (I don't know definitely if Hammerschmidt does this
nowadays). What I forgot to tell is that the kind of Lacquer they use gets
away partly in the first year (depending on your practice hours). So in this
breaking in the clarinet the lacquer gets away (partly), the wood gets used
to the moisture and when they do the first overhaul the rest of the remainig
lacquer is removed because it is not necessary any longer. The bore is
afterwards polished with wax as far as Iknow.
