I'm catching up so hopefully this hasn't been mentioned... You can re-guild yourself for very little time/effort and money. There is a metallic highlighting paste available in common "metals" (gold, silver, bronze, etc...) just smear on and buff off with a clean cloth (directions are, of course, included)>>

Anne, I tried some of this stuff. It leaves a lot to be desired. It may brighten up your old silver teapot, but it doesn't re-plate old tarnished keys.

Save your money. I didn't.
