No offense or anything Rebecca, but an Eb really
doesn't serve much of a purpose in marching band.
Aside from being hard to hear, it's not really unique.
It plays higher, yes, but guess what.........that's
where our wonderful instrument the piccolo comes in
(when you have about 12 of those on the field....they
WILL be heard). And you already have normal clarinets.

Most uncommon thing we had was one year at my high
school we used a soprano sax. we never used bass
clarinets or bari saxes, but we had tenors.

Question though (and i ask this because i dont
remember what the answer was if it's already been
asked). Why do you want to play Eb in marching band so much?
