My 10-10s date from 1965, and predate the Acton vent, so I can't speak
from experience, but I've heard say that it added complexity for very
little gain. It's one more thing to go out of adjustment, too.

I've also heard suggestions that B & H's quality went down during the
70's, but again, that's only anecdotal. What I can say for sure is
that my instruments still play very nicely, and I like them a lot
