Cracking the bomb shelter door and venturing out while the Blue Angels =
fly overhead to defend me (it's Commissioning Week at the Naval =
Academy).....

Elise, I purposely didn't name names because you weren't the only one =
who made comments . My comments were directed to all who responded =
about reed rotation, reed guards, humidifiers, etc. My remarks were not =
personal, as I named no person. Secondly, your answers in your original =
post( at least when I went back to check) are stated so they sound like =
they are from your personal experience. Your statement, as quoted, =
reads: "..... the number one problem with using the=20
same reed until it dies and then putting on a new one is the =
deterioration of the embouchure muscles as the reed gets weaker and =
weaker." Since there is no priority higher than "#1", you made it =
sound, to me, like you personally felt there was no problem of greater =
importance.

I was poking fun because, to me, it is silly to waste time on this =
stuff. I am sorry if you were offended, as that wasn't the intent. =
This is a list, with lots of people, who have lots of opinions. I =
stated mine and stand by them. I then crawled into my shelter because I =
knew that my "attack" required protection from reactionary response. =
the Blue Angels have left, so in order to remain safe, I am going back =
in the shelter. All I have left to say is, "If the shoe fits, wear it." =
If it doesn't fit, well then, I guess you won't marry the prince. I =
still like all the ritualists though. Where would we be without them? =
Heavens, we'd put the bomb shelter salespeople out of business!

P.S. I suppose now I am in the company of Tony, Roger And Jonathan, in =
the Land of Banishment - very good company indeed, even though I don't =
always agree with them. Why, I've even gone so far as to laugh at them =
on occasion!
