Polishing. Add polishing. I would say $200 basic, $50 for polishing, and
some price per cork pad, plus some price per resurface and a flat fee for
intonation adjustment.

So a truly complete overhaul -- one where the instrument comes back better
than new and totally adjusted for maximum and most accurate play -- could be
in the $300+ range.

I got an A horn back from Thomas Ohme with some glue intentionally added to
one side of a pad covering the tone hole of the lower F (clarion C). I asked
him what that was all about, and he said it was because the tone hole was
warped and that resurfacing it might change the pitch. Say what??? I paid
his going rate to have glue sticking to one of the pads?

Subject: [kl] Quick survey on "Clarinet Overhaul"

clarinets "overhauled". When I get into a discussion with them, I find that
each person has a slightly different definition of what an overhaul is.

should be. Maybe some questions with yes or no answers would help clarify.
For this discussion, let's assume a pro quality R-13, separately we can do
student model horns.
