Dear Elise,
My information comes from Mr. Rico,(He is the grandson of the founder of the company. Of Italian descent he is French and lives in the south of france near the plantation.

The cane is shipped to California, where the reeds are produced.

If you have any doubts you can look up ricoreeds.com where it will tell you that there plantation is in France. No mention of cane from California. In fact it is the biggest plantation for growing cane in France.
