I recently picked up a Meyer 5M for MY alto sax and have been playing it
exclusively, instead of switching back and forth between a Selmer
Soloist-style C* and an Otto Link 5* metal mouthpiece for "classical" and
jazz playing, respectively. So far, it does seem to be pretty
reed-friendly. I like it so much I bought a Meyer for my TENOR, too! The
Meyer alto piece makes the Selmer sound thin and constricted by comparison.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
