Hi;

I appreciate all the replies I received. A couple suggested the use of
alternate site testing (AST) for blood sugars, i.e arm instead of fingers.
First off, AST is not the complete replacement for finger testing - it has
some restrictions, and the finger test is the definitive indicator. The
other problem is that I've been finger testing 4 times a day since 1985 and
there is a lot of scar tissue on the pads of my fingers.
