I've tried soaking reeds in a mild bleach solution to try to remove =
mildew.
The bleach removes the mildew but I've always been disappointed with the =
end
result in that the reed has always lost a great deal of its =
"playability"
after this procedure. You might try soaking it in Oxi-Clean-it's a bit
gentler but don't know what the end result would be. Christy

P.S. I once had a music camp clarinet teacher who began lessons for the
week by having everyone clean their reeds with Comet cleanser. UGH!

What's the best method to remove mildew from a reed? This reed is a =
good
one and I want to save it.
Thanks.
