if I were not at work and had a little more time, I would invent one of
those lame forwards entitled "10 Reasons a Saxophone is Better Than a Man".
I'm sure there are more than 10, but that's the template-what are you gonna
do?

10. saxes don't complain about your icy cold feet.

9. saxes don't snore-and if they did it would sound much more pleasant.

Etc.

Subject: [kl] Concert report

I can't ever think of a time when I have posted about my own concert
performance success or failure before, but yesterday I managed to play the
solo sax parts in the L'Arlessiene Suites and not sound like an absolute
jerk. I have never played orchestral sax before and have spent the last few
weeks sleeping with the sax (men are a better deal!). It is a good feeling
to be able to fool a hall full of people into believing that I am a good sax
player. I feel very lucky indeed. The money spent on a closer mouthpiece,
harder reeds and the BG Super Revelation ligature actually paid off. The
ligature was a big surprise, as it freed up my articulation and the
mouthpiece helped smooth out my sound. All in all, I'm very pleased with
myself and just had to share. I have carefully measured my head though, and
so far it isn't any bigger!
