Subj: [kl] Ligature question

(I'm cheating by asking, rather than hunting, but there are so many great
minds out there .... <g>)

When I was in high school -- a long time ago -- I1 had a ligature that had
two narrow metal bars, one on each side, about 1/16th wide" on either side
of the opening. This was the only part that touched the reed. I remember
being very fond of it until an incident in the opera orchestra pit, when I
was stupidly holding my A between my knees as I took my overcoat off to hang
over the seat. (The clarinet went down, crystal mpc hit the solid base of a
music stand, glass went everywhere, and a trombone player, trying to get out
of the way of the glass, managed to stomp the ligature.) I hadn't thought
about it in years, but I'm not really happy with the sound I'm getting
recently, and that's one thing I'd like to go back in time to find. I seem
to dredge up the memory that it may have been a "Fuller Ligature", but that
may not even be close. (This was the late fifties.)

Suggestions where I can find this, or one similar? Thanks, Jim
