I have a beautiful, greatly improved Leblanc Low C bass clarinet for sale. It dates from the 70's. The low range is the most beautiful sound in existence (better than my Prestige Bass!) and it is very un-stuffy. So why am I selling it? Well, frankly, it doesn't tune as well as my new Prestige Bass and since I was taking auditions, I needed the Prestige. However, it is a wonderful horn and will serve any needs including high-level orchestra playing. It is in perfect working condition and has very little wear on it (tho it has a pinned crack)
In short, it is the perfect instrument for those who will 1) not be playing with the Chicago Sym., et al. and 2) want a top-quality Low-C instument at a very low price. I would LIKE to get $3,000 for it (reasonable considering a new Low-C Bass of any brand is over $5K) but any serious offer will be considered. Please reply off-list so as not to burden other clarinet-ers.
