String ligatures presumably apply gentle pressure over a considerable area of the back of the reed, which seems a totally different approach from that implied by the trendy(?) minimalist ligatures. What *is* the point of having a ligature
which applies considerable pressure on two small areas of the reed?
(Not a rhetorical question .....).
