When you played professionally, was this as a regular member of an orchestra, on a freelance
basis, or perhaps professional chamber playing? I think this is the first time (in my memory,
anyway) you've ever mentioned that you once played clarinet at the professional level. I remember
that you had a career as a successful businesman, to which your evident intellect no doubt
contributed. But what of the performance career? Stories about subbing at the Met come to mind.
