Forest,

I have three Harris silver ligatures, two for Bb clarinet and one for =
eefer. I liked them with my Hite mouthpieces, but have a hard time with =
them on my wooden Greg Smith mouthpieces. To make the reed respond with =
them on the wooden mouthpieces, I have to tighten them so tight that I =
am afraid I will mark the mouthpiece. If I put anything under the =
mouthpiece, then the screws aren't long enough to tighten the ligature =
with. I haven't played enough with them to know just what I can do as =
far as changing screw length, etc. I do know that glue is very hard to =
remove from the wood without damaging it and I have allergy problems =
with chemicals. Any suggestions?
