Subj: [kl] Thanks for all the suggestions for clarinet duets

I am almost ready to set a date in May for my clarinet recital with
Colorado Springs clarinetist Emily Singley. Thank all of you for
suggesting duets. So far, I have located or purchased the Michael Kibbe
"Serenade", The Dvorak "5 Slavonic Dances" for 2 clarinets & piano, The
Crusell "3 Progressive Duets", the Mendelssohn "3 Concert Pieces" for 2
clarinets & piano, and the Mozart "12 duets for 2 basset horns". I
noticed that Crusell's Duet #3 is for 2 C Clarinets, so I am excited
about playing my C clarinet in a recital. Crusell's Duet #1 and #2 have
not arrived yet. I hope that somebody else in Colorado Springs has a C
clarinet. We may have to borrow one.
I have heard a lot of talk on the list lately about Dan and Steve's
Fox Basset Horns. I wonder if that is the type of basset horn used for
the 12 duets by Mozart? I suppose that the Fox Basset Horn would cost
quite a bit. I did look on the Fox website, but I don't even know for
sure what the differences are between all of those instruments, so it
was impossible for me to decide which instrument would be appropriate
for the 12 duets.
Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. I will probably end
up performing all the the duets eventually. ANNIE
