Forest, I chose the narrow bore, same as Dan's. Yes I did have the
chance to try the two bores side by side, for quite a long time, and
while Steve preferred (at that time) the medium bore himself, he even
agreed I sounded better on the narrow (I will have to check what the
actual dimensions are). My primary reason was the sound, which Dan calls
plaintive and some call strangled pigeon; it matched my mental image of
the sound I wanted. The secondary reason was the way it felt to blow the
instrument - essentially the impedance felt right, from the first blow
on Dan's. I found the medium bore harder work for - to me - an inferior
result.

Which bore did you choose?
And why? Did you play both bores?
