This reminds me of the feeling I had the first time I *played* my
clarinets (I'm playing both Bb & Eb most performances this year) in
performance rather than just reading the notes (like I felt I was doing
at previous public outings). What feeling that was! To be able to sit
down and play with the band again was great.

Richard, you are correct when you say the gift of music last a
lifetime. I only wish I had listened when my teachers had told me that
when I played in high school - I might never have taken the break that
I did!

Since i'm posting, Does anyone have any experience with the Royal
Conservatory or Western Board exams for clarinet? I'm thinking that a
goal to strive for might focus my practice a little better.
