This post is not intended to be boastful. what I did was not splended by any
stanard. But I think person of this list will it appreciated to some degree.
As previously stated, I played in High School, took 30 years off, and
started back in fib 2003.
My mother-in-law is a music major, retired teacher and very good musician. I
bought a book of piano-clarinet duets and we have practiced the first two;
Gynopedia by Satie and Etude #3 by Baerman.
This week end after Easter dinner we played them for a small (15) mostly
family audience. It came off OK. No squeaks. I dropped a few notes here and
there but no one noticed, except my mother in law.
I was sweating like a stuck pig. My reading glasses fogged up and I had to
play the last three measures from memory, which is not that good (i enjoyed
the '70s).
what a blast. I really enjoyed the fun and teamwork of performing with any
other.Incorporating their little quirks with mine and turning out decent
performance. We still have work to do and other duets conquer but, man it
was fun.
thanks for listening
