I don't know the commercial you are talking about, but most good
"synthesizers" aren't synths at all, but rather they are samplers. =
Somebody
sat in a studio and played a bunch of examples of an instrument. It was
recorded and the computer plays back those samples.

It is entirely possible that it was written for that commercial. I've
worked a bit in the commercial world and unless the producer wants to =
pay
huge liscensing costs, they'll have a composer write the jingle. There =
are
folks that make great money doing that kind of work. An example where a
corporate identity is based on liscensed music would include Chevy =
Truck's
"like a rock" campaign which uses music of Pete Seger (I believe). A
composed jingle would be the Chili's restraunt themes... Even going to =
their
most recent ad campaign with live musicians on camera playing the =
jingles.
