I entirely agree, except that "chit-chat" is much too nice a term. I'd
call it adolescent garbage by a small group of selfish people who have
turned this list into their personal chat room. And then they
self-righteously dump on anyone who doesn't enjoy their girltalk. The
astonishing part is the number of "adults" who actively encourage this
juvenile behavior. For Pete's sake, even Luby Jackson was more
responsible than this. I'll try going off the digest and screening
their names with a filter, but if that doesn't work, I'm outta here.

I feel like I've been robbed of a valuable resource. Gresham's law of
the Internet strikes again.
