Actually, using power tools for such a delicate adjustment can lead to taking off too much too soon. For easing the inside of a tenon socket, I use a thick dowel rod covered with 400 strength sandpaper. I prefer to work on the inside of the socket, that's where the swelling and sticking usually comes from in my opinion.
