There have been a few comments lately that there are too many rodents and
discussions of angry departed list members and other various chatter and that
these topics should go elsewhere. Well, I like the variety of stuff here. I
suppose we all have to use judgment about how much is too much, and let go
the urge to have the last word, but I like small doses of the rodents (and
cats [one certain cat is one of the reasons I read this list!!!!]). That's
my vote. This a clarinet list, but anybody who makes music on a clarinet
must have imagination and a soul, so there will always be some
unpredictability here.

It's the nature of the Internet that small errors, misreadings, and
expressions of emotion can snowball into giant discussions. And those
discussions sometimes are illuminating and ofttimes are a waste of time. So
I think good net etiquette is to read and respond carefully, but also not get
worked up over the extraneous flurries when they occur. If something does
get crazy, I hope someone says 'let's stop this', rather than 'this
particular subject doesn't belong here at all.'
