Greetings all

I have one thought to add to the debate. What is the standard of testing
for a clarinet?
Our ears are highly subjective, non standard and at best questionable
tools. Does a
device exist that will play a clarinet in a controlled environment, using X
amount of
CFM, etc. Then record the "sound", alter the barrel or what have you.
Repeat the test
and compare the resulting spectra.

At the end of the day what is pleasing to our ears matters, so maybe the
test results
will hint at what a perfect clarinet setup is. Or should I say the sound
with the majority
votes!

To that end. Lets all experiment and welcome any ideas no matter how wide
reaching.
Remember, Teflon and many other advances were accidents.

Joe
