Bll, I'm curious to know how they looked different from the outside. I
know a number of players in my local area who play double-lip and of
course many who play single-lip. The only way I can tell in most cases
is to ask (or have it come up in conversation). When I watch myself in a
mirror, I can't see a difference (I play both ways at various times).
How did the double-lip in this case look different?

Point taken. I can't know for sure. One of the clarinetists had his
upper lip wrapped and (it appeared) tucked under his teeth with very
little 'pink lip' showing. The other did not.

....sometimes it's truly fatiguing to admit that it's difficult
(impossible?) to know anything for certain.

Cheers,
Bill
