My student puckers his lips. This is only his fourth lesson.

I decided to work on his fingers first. He had overly arched, jabbing at the
keys with the top of his fingers. We got that one figured out. And he moved
up one section in his high school band as a result. He thinks I am a hero.

His mechanical technique is better than what his tone should be. The comment
I am interested in is too much lip on the reed. I told him he could not
control the reed with his approach. Am I right?
