Personally, I would prefer bass clarinet parts to be written in treble clef.
When I was young, with a nimble mind, I could read the bass clef parts at
sight. I do recall one part in orchestra while I was at university -- but
don't remember the composition -- that was in bass clef for A bass clarinet.
I remember my response to the librarian at the time. It was , "Oh, ....".
Can't write that four letter word on net. I figured it out, but never
really comfortably.
Interestingly, I'm quite comfortable in bass clef right now, because I've
spent my summer trying to teach my grandson, who plays TC baritone, to THINK
in bass clef, getting him ready for university.
