If you go to a large library they may have a person that is skilled in the
work you need. They can stop the deterioration from chemical in the air and
the chemicals that are already in the paper. I had a relative that did this
work as a job. If the book you have is an original and as old as you say it
is too old to be used. It would be preserved only for archival purposes and
probably copied then stored in a special climate controled room. You would
use only the copies that would be made.
