If you end up milling your own the only issue that I could think of would be
the weight and feel of the new key in comparison to the existing ones.
Stronger - absolutely, different feel though too. It might make your
playing a little uneven at first until you retrained yourself - again just
supposition here.

Good luck. Also, you might try asking on the bass clarinet list - someone
might have one for ya.

I need the F lever. The piece is missing so soldering is out.

Allied will not sell retail, neither will Leblanc. I tried to order the key
through Sam Ash, (Leblanc dealer in Columbus) no chance there
either. Repairing your own instrument was a new one to them.

Oh well thanks for the brass idea, I am drawing up the key in Autocad now
soon the CNC will crank out a new stainless steel one. No need to plate.

One more lead before I head down the milling route, I will stop at a repair
shop in
town and see if they have one.

Thanks
Joe
