Someone recently posted an inquiry regarding lighter repertoire for wind
quintet.

There are a number of options available, but some of the best are arrangements
by Richard Price. Several have been recorded by the Borealis Quintet for
Musical Heritage Society and are available on CD (MHS512526Z). Mr. Price can be
contacted at 75 Loughlin Avenue, Cos Cob, CN 06807.

The disc also holds a wonderful "Porgy and Bess" medly -- approximately eleven
minutes in length -- arranged by Anatoli Anastasov. Unfortunately I have no
contact information for Mr. Anastasov.

If anyone is interested in the Gershwin material, contact the Borealis
Quintet's agent, Joanne Rile Artist Management, 100 Old York Road, Benson East,
Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, 19046. Ms. Rile can inquire of the quintet as to how
and where they acquired the Gershwin medley.
