Insofar as how the master classes work here at OU, they're generally
held in the smaller of our two performing halls. You sign up beforehand
with your registration, and you can sign up at the symposium also, if a
class has failed to fill up during regular preregistration. Normally, four
or five people will play throughout the course of the masterclass, which
will last an hour or an hour and a half or so. If you have signed up and
don't get an opportunity to play during the class, I believe that you can
receive your money back. In the case of some of the workshops here, such as
jazz improvisation and klezmer, I think that it's not an actual masterclass
setup, but instead, a group class, with more of a lecture style to it.
I'll check on whether or not financial recovery is available for those
who don't get to play, and I'll also check on exactly what's involved in
some of the more subject-oriented masterclasses. I'll report back to the
list when I know something.
Leslie
PS: To everyone who has expressed concern regarding the .pdf files on our
website, I talked to Dr. Etheridge, and he is aware of the problem, and I'm
going to help him get something up on the website that is accessible to all
providers/browsers/whatever.

I'd still like an answer to (some or all of) my questions if anyone
knows the correct answer(s). Thanks.
