Josh,

As for local stores, you could try "The Music Store" on Columbus
between 61st and 62nd Streets. Ask for Jonathan or Tiffany.

I don't believe that there are Eb reeds in the Grand Concert
line. Considering all of the major mailorder places do not carry
them in Eb (Woodwind Brasswind, Muncy Winds, and International
Musical Suppliers.)

You may consider doing what MANY of the players on this list do,
which is find a reed they like for Bb and take some off the butt
end of the reed so that it fits lengthwise on the mouthpiece. I
do this with V12 Vandorens with GREAT results over any Eb reed I
have played on. You could try the Bb Grand Concert reeds on Eb
too.

There was a thread on the list here a little over a month ago
about the Vandoren German "White Master" reeds being very good
for this application also.

The broader width of the Bb reed covers better on the Eb
mouthpiece and the vibrations are more stable, causing a more
full sound and less squeaks. I wouldn't go back to Eb reeds of
ANY brand after finding out about how much better the shortened
Bb reeds were.
