Hi Annette.
Good to hear from a fellow practisioner of "stickability" .
Playing jazz clarinet has been a compulsive interest of mine since my teens
and for many years I tolerated deteriorating lower front teeth, putting off
the "Dreadful day when I woud lose them.
The moment of truth came when a minor accident parted me from my precious
gnashers
After a while with persistenc I managed to rebuild my embuchureat least the
denture provided a more solid support than hitherto.
With regard to your "Puffing cheeks problem I suggest that before putting
the clt in your mouth you form an exaggerated smiling face.
Smile- then intensify the facial shape tightening the facial muscles. thus
supporting your embuchure. Mind you -puffing cheeks never bothered Dizzy
Gillespi. It,s the sound that matters in the last analysis. Harold
