Oh it went absolutely wonderful! Dr. Al Benner, the piano teacher (who's
absolutely fantastic, might I add) did my clarinet audition. He says he
can't wait to have me in his program next year. If I go there, I will have
the opportunity to play with Northwestern State University's Marching and
Concert bands. The Louisiana School will pay for my private lessons and
everything! For my audition, at the very last minute, I chicked out on
playing Weber, so I played the two All-State audition pieces out of the
Voxman book. But Dr. Benner cut me off after the first few measures because
he just wanted to make sure I could play with confidence and had a good
sound. I'm very very excited! As for the interview part, all went well.
The two instructors that interviewed the group of 5 I was with were Dr. Ward
and Mrs.(Dr.?) Peters. Mrs. Peters remembered me from the first time I had
visited LSMSA (which meant I left a good impression). Now I just wait and
wait to find out if I made it. I'll know by April the 15th. :)
Thanks,
Amanda
