Has anyone mentioned "Five Pennies", the bio. of Red Nicholes?

I did.

I saw it as a kid, sitting on the rail of a 50-ft high balcony where my
Dad did lighting sometimes and my Mom acted. During the final scene
when Danny Kay resolves to put everything right and to play his solo
while marching down the aisle (in a nightclub with Satchmo on stage, I
believe), my Mom felt it necessary to grab me by the collar and pull me
back from the rail and into my seat. Mothers get so worried
sometimes..... I wanted so badly to be a trumpeter at that moment!

I saw the film again 30-40 years later (reruns on TV, I think), and I
couldn't generate the same emotion during the big scene.... but as a
kid, WOW !!!

"Why?" is useful only if we hope for a perceivable cause and the
language to express it. Do some aspects of music lack one or both of
these? May a culture with more suitable language understand and
appreciate more of music than we do?
