Here are two unusual, though minor works from 20th century England for
those of you interested in breaking new repertorial ground: the Phantasy
Quintet for bass clarinet and strings by York Bowen, a gifted contemporary
of Ralph Vaughan Williams and the quintet for clarinet and strings by
Richard Walthew.

The Bowen has just released by the British Music Society on BMS246CD. It's
somewhat difficult to acquire stateside but those of you who are interested
can try one of the better e-tailers in Merrie England..
