There is an instrument called Sarrusaphone,, which looks like the Leblanc
metal contrabass clarinet but with a bassoon reed.
I don't know what it overblows. Ravel used it to depict the Beast in the
section of Beauty and Beast in
Mother Goose suite. Supposd to have an ugly sound. AG
