I saw one, two summers ago, at the Renninger's flea market in Kutztown,
Pennsylvania, USA . . . if "bass clarinet barrel" can be defined in the
same sense that one would define "bass clarinet case." ;-)

With too much time on my hands while I waited for my husband at the end of
the day, I went dumpster-diving, to see if any dealers junked anything good
(or at least interesting) as they packed up to leave. Someone had tossed
part of a wrecked bass clarinet (plastic; I forget what brand) into a
barrel. The same dealer (a regular at that flea, who specializes in
instruments, most of them student quality in "as is" condition) had also
tossed bits and pieces of other instruments that looked as if they'd been
cannibalized for parts. I'm guessing these were the remains of an auction
job-lot consigned by a repair shop that needed to clean house. The section
of bass clarinet I could see was missing too many keys for me to root
around amongst the hamburger wrappers for the rest of the instrument. I
thought the dealer made the right decision about the other stuff in that
barrel, too, so I left it for some other cockroach and went to wash my
hands....
