They make portable humidifiers that you wear around your neck to keep
moisture in the air. But you get used to it after a week or so. I have the
same problem living in New Orleans and going out west to visit family and
friends. I just returned from Vegas where I was in severe pain from the
draught. It was up in my sinuses and I just wanted to rip off the front of
my face and jump in the fountain at Bellagio.

Lori,
I have just returned from a week in Albuquerque. I hate the heat with a
passion and it gets very hot here in the summer. I now find that I hate the
dryness of the desert even worse. Thank goodness it wasn't hot while I was
there (60 degrees). I went through 18 bottles of water (the carry around
size) in addition to everything else I drank. I also had altitude sickness
after a day on Sandia Crest. Have you always lived in that region or did
you arrive sometime after childhood? How do you deal with the dryness? I
never thought I would live to hear myself say this, but I was really glad to
come back to sea level and 80% humidity (and plenty of oxygen)!
