Thank you, Richard.

A simple "yes, it is supposed to come appart" would
have sufficed.

Having restored far more complex and far more
expensive equipment, I am clearly aware of the fact
that "restoration" means "close to the originally
condition as possible". AS POSSIBLE being the
operative phrase. So when it is NOT possible, I have
learned to leave well enough alone.

the bell integrated with the lower joint. If it looks
like it could come apart, if there is a band between
the bottom of the lower joint and the top of the
bell.....then we're talking about it being two
parts.Does a carburetor come off of the intake
manifold, even if it is stuck and doesn't want to come
off after the bolts are removed? My suggestion is get
into that Elderado, drive it and your 1913 Albert
System Buffet to a high class repair shop and have
them deal with it.PS......If you had "really" restored
this instrument, the bell would come on and off with a
mild twist. My idea of restoration is to make things
as/or as close to they originally condition as
possible.On Thursday, March 20, 2003, at 01:10 PM, Vic
