I have restored an 1890-ish Albert clarinet stamped "Jacques Albert",
son (I think) of the founder and designer. -It has a large bore, similar
to a modern "Pete Fountain" Leblanc or a B&H 10-10, and is similar to
the instruments played by the English clarinettist Lazarus. I don't have
the measurement to hand and the instrument itself is in a container on
the Atlantic!

I think Bill is right that (Belgian) Alberts were large bore, but that
the German clarinets were narrower though the system (devloped from
Mueller) and fingering were very similar.

Smaller than what? I thought Alberts were usually LARGE bore.
