Rebecca, I think you may be looking for Introduction, theme &
Variations. The introduction part starts in 6/8 time. Many people have
published it. Although it was originally written for clarinet and
orchestra, most students learn the arrangement for clarinet and piano.
I unfortunately have the Southern publication, with a dedication from
Himie Voxman. It is o.k. but my eyesight is poor and the notes are too
tiny for me. If you find it, I know for sure that Sabine Meyer recorded
a CD that has it, entitled "An Evening at the Opera". Good luck to you.
