As many of you already know, I make barrels. So far, I have used grenadilla and cocobolo.

After I ream the bore, and turn the barrel on the lathe for the final contour, I POLISH, POLISH, and POLISH. Both the exterior and the bore are polished extensively.

When I polish I use steel wool and my own "Bore Oil". I could not imagine sending out a barrel that had not been through this process.

I have tried polishing with out the "Bore Oil", and I cannot acheive anywhere near the lustre of the finished wood.

Also, more importantly, the tone is enhanced with the oiling and polishing.
