I just finished up transferring an LP to CD of what was called The New
Benny Goodman Sextet which included Terry Gibbs. It was recorded in
1952. It is good to hear he is still at it 50 years later!

Last night I went to "Blast II: Shockwave." It was similar to the original
"Blast!" with two important differences. It seemed to have fewer marching
elements and more dance-type movement. But more importantly, it had
WOODWINDS! There were saxophones, flutes, and even clarinets! In fact,
one of the first numbers was "Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs." It was played
pretty much in its entirety, and was nicely done. Of course, everything
was miked, even the saxophones! :-)

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is TOO LOUD!
