Deidre, I use a Vandoren B45 mouthpiece. I also have a Buffet R-13 and
with a fantastic adjustment from my technician, I have no trouble with
intonation of my throat tones. However, I still tend to unconsciously
adjust my embouchre from the old days of playing on other instruments that
were very sharp in that range and I still work on training myself not to do
that. Old habits truly die hard.

It's an early 1980's model Buffet R13.

Hadn't thought of this. I'll try some different mouthpieces. I use a
Marcellus.

Cool! Maybe I'll try something temporary to to test this, then bring it in
to get some new pads if it works.
