Several months ago my repairman of 40 years, Hal Gibboney, a good
clarinettist, and (in his prime) an excellent repairman, passed away. I am
the attorney for the executor of the estate. I begged the bank trust
officer to inventory his remaining instruments by name and serial number
before offering them for sale. I don't think that it was done. Most were
offered to dealers. What remained were sold at local public sale. this
was bad for the estate but good for some young musicians. One fortunate
young lady got a new Symphonie VII for $120.00!
Forgive me if you've seen this this week. I've sent it but it hasn't
registered.
