Aside from the issue of who authored this, there are several mistaken or
oversimplified statements in the first few paragraphs --- such that a
person may question whether the entire article is worth reading. For
example:

<><> While every other woodwind instrument has a conical bore (yes, even
the flute!)

There have been, and are now, cylindrical flutes. To lump all flutes
into the category of either 'conical' or 'cylindrical' is wrong.

<><> [the clarinet] is so laden with overtones, which contributes to its
unique sound.

The even-numbered partials on a clarinet are significantly reduced,
which is the opposite of what the word "laden" suggests to many people.
Presumably this statement refers to the fact that (for example) a flute
produces only three partials of significant strength, but "laden"
doesn't provide an accurate perspective on the entire assortment of
woodwinds.

This sort of 'report' is often the result of paraphrasing or copying
individual paragraphs out of context.

imo, at least.
