I don't think this is quite true. While the Winterthur Fragment (KV =
584b)is sketched out for a basset horn in G (not F) it is not complete. =
The Clarinet Concerto (KV 622) is generally thought to have been =
composed for a basset clarinet (one extending down to a low C) pitched =
in A.
