The cable that you need to go from your MiniDisc into your computer will
have a 1/8" stereo mini plug on each end (like you'd see at the end of a
pair of headphones for a walkman). Look at the plug and you should see 3
metal sections that are divided by 2 plastic rings. You need this for
stereo.

Another way of making CDs is to get a stand-alone CD recorder. There are a
bunch out there. Get a 1/8" miniplug to 2 phono-plug cable like you'd use
to plug a Discman into a stereo. You can make CDs by just recording from
one to the other directly.

As for microphones, look at the Audio Technica AT822 or some of the little
Sony mics. I personally wouldn't buy anything from Radio Shack. Just
because something says digital doesn't mean its good.
